Cambridge Freenet (CamNet) was one of the very first UK community Internet service providers in the 1990s, at its peak serving nearly 500 people and businesses in the Cambridge city region. It offered free email and web hosting, and for a while also dial-up Internet connectivity, at a time when this was a radically new idea, and rarely available at an affordable price.
CamNet continued to provide a hosting service until 2013.
